“Life is a journey. How we travel is really up to us. We can just flow with the tide or follow our own dreams.”
– Paulo Coelho
This short journey has been very exciting and enriching.
My work on sustainability and waste to wealth management – the tree plantation drives, green battery initiative, mother dairy milk poly pack recycling, Re-Med initiative for used medicine strips recycling, to name a few have been very fulfilling.
My volunteering experience as student faculty at the Khwahishein Foundation NGO, teaching the underprivileged slum children in my residential colony particularly during COVID, as a ‘Student Scribe’ for assisting differently abled students of our School in writing their annual Grade 10 and Grade 12 CBSE exams, etc. have been very humbling. Taking this journey forward by giving back to the community, I have recently been selected as a Learning Den Tutor at the Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
The morning bicycle rides with my parents exploring the urban landscapes and historical monuments of Delhi, and recent treck upto the Bear Falls (Turgen Gorge) near Almaty. Science club learnings, Founding the chess club in our residential colony and hosting a chess tournament. Organising club events & activities for various Activity Clubs in our School [I am also part of the core team that founded the Photography Club at the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) in 2023 and am currently managing the events of the Club as the ‘Event Chair’], have given me lot of clarity on my passion and has greatly helped me in honing my communication and leadership skills, collaborative team work and in my overall development.
Multiple awards and honours received for my accomplishments & excellence in academics [I have been consecutively placed on the Dean’s List with a perfect GPA of 4.0 for the last three semesters during my Freshman and Sophomore years at the Johns Hopkins University (JHU)], chess, photography [now as the ‘Event Chair’ at Photography Club at JHU], club activities etc. have been very encouraging and give me the right opportunity, learnings and impetus to move forward towards my goal.
My short journey so far is further summed up in the words of famous Poet Ralph Waldo Emerson – “Life is a journey, not a destination.”
